Message from the Technical Director
Hello everyone and thank you for your involvement in Dorval Soccer. Our organization has experienced two consecutive years of impressive growth.
The continued success of our program is positively and directly impacted by your involvement.
What’s most important: winning or having fun?
Well, I think the answer is “neither”. It is most important for our children to learn how to play the game. Both winning and having
fun are a result of playing the game correctly! Children are sponges; capable of absorbing a lot. If they’re not learning – they’re not
having fun (especially in the long-run).
If we don’t teach our kids how to play the game with skill, they will choose to concentrate on other interests or sports when they reach
the critical age of 12-13 years old. However, if we teach our kids to play the game correctly, they are likely to play and be involved in
soccer well into adulthood, and have a lifelong love of the “beautiful game”.
To that end, our Club is placing greater emphasis on technical training for our players. We have prepared this CD-ROM with reference material
to help our coaches. Technical Staff will present the drills contained on this CD-ROM for house-league teams and coaches later this spring
and summer.
Please contact me at
technicaldirector@dorvalsoccer.com if you would like to receive coaching certification from the Quebec Soccer Federation.
Have a great season!
Best regards,
Brian Ridgway
