VICE PRESIDENT COMPETITIVE'S MESSAGE POST AGM

Dear members,
I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Thomas Cipriani and have two children who started playing Developmental Soccer at the ages of 4 and 5 in Dorval and are now playing competitive soccer in Dorval. I am also a coach for both of their teams for almost 7 years. I have been involved in soccer since I was 6 years old and I have held positions at another soccer association as a player, an assistant coach, manager, head coach, Junior Tech Staff and Senior Coordinator for Inter City Teams.

My main motivation for joining the Dorval Soccer Association Executive Committee as VP-Competitive was motivated by my desire to ensure that our club continue to be able to offer competitive soccer to the Dorval community.

Some of you may be reeling over last night’s AGM. There are many unknowns and uncertainties and we know the association is in a difficult position. But we also know that many of you were present at the AGM for the same reason: you wanted change, and wanted to ensure that you or your child has a competitive team to play for years to come in Dorval. Know that the vision of this newly-elected Executive is aligned with yours. We too want to ensure that all players are able to continue to play soccer in Dorval, both in Inter-City and House League.

Many members stepped up to be part of the Executive Committee last night. We know we are facing an uphill battle, and we are motivated to do whatever we can to ensure we can offer competitive soccer in Dorval. You put your trust in us, but now we need your help. We need you to allow us the time to fully assess the situation and understand what our options are.

As VP-Competitive my number one priority is to ensure we have Inter-City soccer for all your children past 2020. Know that we have already began setting up meetings as of this very morning with the region to fully understand our current situation and explore all options in regards to the licensing. We will work with Lac St. Louis and Soccer Quebec to see what it will take for us to maintain our Inter-City status and we will communicate with you as the process is ongoing.

I want to clearly state that it is business as usual for the 2020 season and I ask that you allow me and the Executive Committee a few weeks to gather as much information as possible in order to provide you with a clearer picture of the direction in which we can head.

Together we will do all we can to succeed in this endeavour and we will do our best to regrow the Dorval Soccer Tigers Club!

Sincerely,

Thomas Cipriani
